My Time at Charleston Fashion Week!

Well, hello hello!

It's been AGES since I've updated this site. I know, I promised to write at least every other day, but, I can assure you, there hasn't been much to write home about.

Since I've been up here, I've been hastily trying to find a job and settle into my new surroundings. I love the fast paced lifestyle of the city and couldn't be happier where I am. It's kind of funny: I moved up here to focus on music but, up until this past weekend, I hadn't had my keyboard with me. So, I haven't really made any music. That's been extremely interesting for me, of course. Thankfully, my Father, Second Mother, Sister, and Grandparents agreed to bring the keyboard (in all of it's five million pound glory) to Charleston. Awe (<3)!

Then I forgot the keyboard stand somewhere in Penn Station and left my phone in the car shuttle.... But we won't talk about that. On to the exciting things!

My reasoning for returning to the south this past weekend was to attend Charleston Fashion Week, as you could probably tell by the title of this post. Now, of course, I wasn't the one competing in the Emerging Designer Competition. ;-) Contrary to popular belief, I am not a fashion designer! That title belongs to my extremely talented brother, Roy Blake Smith (If you really thought that was me in the above picture with a top knot, I thank you, but I'm not that skinny and would never wear my hair like that)!

I had the great pleasure to watch the show from the audience on Friday night. I got some pretty decent photos of his collection, but trust me, they don't do justice to the beautiful garments. Sadly, the whole collection cannot be found in the images below, since I was backstage on Saturday night, (AKA the FINALE where all twelve garments were presented, more than that of Friday's eight) but you can see them in the above image.. Did I mention he made it to the FINALE? Only five out of fifteen designers made it that far. It's no surprise that he was one of them! #BaddestBitch

So, yes... All in all, CFW was AMAZING! I am IMMENSELY proud of Blake, regardless of the outcome. Sadly, I didn't get great shots of the other designer's collections. I was simply too anxious about capturing Blake's looks, but you can view every collection here!

Also, if you'd like to see a video of Blake's collection on Friday night, go here!

Be on the lookout in the coming days/weeks for news. :-) I'm excited for what this year has in store! Thank you for sticking around through my absence. I really appreciate it and love you lots!

P.S. Anna and I had an impromptu photoshoot at the beach! The photos were taken with my new camera! They turned out great and I'm happy to say that I WILL be using them as promo shots! Here are some of the images (IF YOU FOLLOW ME ON ANY SOCIAL MEDIA, THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN ALL OVER YOUR NEWSFEED, BUT I'M SO PROUD OF THEM) and there will be more to come!

P.P.S: Here's a song I've been swooning over lately!
